2. Digitization of Contemporary Newspapers

>> Digitization of Archive Newspaper

Planman is playing an active role in the archival digitization movement. We are working with different libraries, universities and governments at national levels across the globe. Planman has digitized more than 9 million pages of newspapers from the 18th century to the 21st, for national and academic research libraries, local historical societies, newspaper publishers and commercial aggregators. With most of our clients our activities generally start with High Resolution Scanning. This includes objects like microfilms, microfiche as well as hard copy newspapers. The material is generally scanned in to TIFF/JPEG 2000 format. Planman also does further classification and segmentation of metadata both at article and page level before finally giving the output as Searchable PDF or METS/ALTO XML.
